Captured Eclipse

Blackout at dawn
It was Rooster
But the sun wanted to yawn
A nap as you may call it
A break that even you wanna take it
Even the sun wanted to be lazy once a year
That’s part of nature was clear

Something was strange I was sure
I sensed something eventful I eagerly waited for
The earth seemed like a stage where sun was unprepared
So came moon as curtain down at dawn
As if it was a wedding veil drawn
Uh la la I saw a diamond ring
As if the sun had proposed the earth for marrying

Brilliance so truly personified
Either was it sun or the ring I was mystified
Still it was a spectacle I couldn’t afford to miss
The wedding of the Lords with nature amidst
When I turned around to see
Everyone smitten, their jaw dropped
And wide eyes filled with awe

I still have the picture captured in my mind
A mirror as if engraved with gold divine
The sun then so majestically emerging
My heart almost skipped a beat
He tilted the veil gently
Beaming the brilliance on his face

She watched him though the corner of her eye
The Earth’s beauty bloomed with light
As if a hundred moons shone through her face
The sky was warm and orange
And her eyes revealed the secrets of the crescent moon
Cool breeze suddenly blew my face
They kissed my cheek as I closed my eyes
I was in bliss witnessing the spectacle
I had them all captured deep in my heart
